Guatemala, December 6, 2019. Comercializadora PAHAME put a modern floating dock into operation in Puerto Santo Tomás de Castilla, which will streamline ship loading and unloading processes.

It is currently the only floating dock of its type in the Latin American region. It is 200 meters long, equivalent to two soccer fields, and has the capacity to reduce the ship loading and unloading time to half.

The dock’s design was done by Log Marine of the Rina Group, a company based in Genoa, Italy, and was constructed in a shipyard in Shanghai, China. Construction was completed in April 2016; more than 1,500 tons of steel were used.

Comercializadora PAHAME is a Guatemalan company that started operations in 2012 in Puerto Santo Tomás de Castilla. Its core business is bulk solids logistics and marketing.

Comercializadora PAHAME is respectful of Guatemalan laws and has every environmental permit needed to operate. In addition, it reiterates its commitment to contribute to the development of Guatemala through work framed within the current legal structure of the country.
